Following an earlier career in the travel industry, Fokkina worked in management consultancy (including a spell with KPMG Management Consulting) and training for over 20 years. During this time she has worked with ‘blue chip’ companies, SMEs, organisations in the health, higher education, local government and central government sectors.
She is a Chartered psychologist with a current Practising Certificate, and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS). She has a BSc in Psychology, an MA in Occupational Psychology and holds British Psychological Society level B (intermediate) recognition of professional competence in occupational testing and personality questionnaire usage.

- Stress management.
In early 2004 Fokkina became a Director of Informed Assessment Ltd, which provides consultancy and training to support assessment for employee selection and development. Informed Assessment Ltd works with a wide range of both blue-chip organisations in the manufacturing and service sectors and SMEs, as well as the NHS, further education and local authority sectors. Through her connection with the company Fokkina can provide an additional range of services to clients in the UK and Europe:-
